Q: We have 4000 contacts in an iPhone, which we have downloaded to CSV file. We have 1300 contacts in Realvolve, and some of these maybe duplicates. What is the best way to get the 4000 contacts into Realvolve without duplicating existing contacts?
A: While importing your CSV, you can opt to have the system merge any duplicate Contacts based on their email address or name using the "How do you want to import Contacts" dropdown menu during the import process. However, if you also have Google Sync enabled for your iPhone contacts, syncing your Google Contacts to Realvolve may also cause duplicates within both systems. We would recommend first importing your CSV file into Realvolve, with the proper merge settings selected. After doing so, remove the Contacts from your Google Contacts, as well as your iPhone, then initiate a sync from Realvolve. This will sync the Contacts from Realvolve, to your Google Contacts, then to your iPhone to ensure consistency across all platforms.
If you do notice duplicates within Realvolve, you can also use our merge tool available under Settings > Merge Wizard.
