From your Realvolve Dashboard, select your profile image in the upper right corner, then select Settings.
Select "SMS Services" to choose a custom SMS number for sending text messages from inside Realvolve. Choose your country, enter your local area code, choose one of the available SMS numbers, then click Save.
Note: In order for Realvolve to send SMS messages you MUST select from the list of available SMS numbers. THIS WILL NOT BE THE SAME AS YOUR NORMAL MOBILE PHONE SMS NUMBER.
Once you have an assigned Realvolve SMS number, you can select notification preferences to receive Emails and/or SMS notifications when you receive an SMS Message to your Realvolve number. Realvolve uses the “Cell Phone” field in your My Account settings for notifications.
While we try to maintain a broad selection of area codes at all times, you can sometimes run into the issue where the area code you're looking for is temporarily out of stock. If this happens, we recommend using overlay area codes as a workaround. You may find the complete list of area code overlays here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_area_code_overlays
Example: 212 is the original area code for New York City (Manhattan to be exact). The overlays 646, 917, and 332 have been added as the need for additional numbers has grown. You can see a full list of overlays in the North American Numbering Plan.
Canada also has a few exhausted area codes. Examples of such area codes include but are not limited to 416 (Toronto), 905 (Ontario) and 403 (Calgary) numbers. These numbers can become available if someone releases the number but often is not available.
After selecting your Realvolve SMS number, you must then submit an Application to Person (A2P) registration to use this number to send SMS from your Realvolve application to a person's mobile number. There are two different registration types, dependent on whether your business has a business registration number, such as an EIN.

Once we receive your registration, we will process this back to our phone provider for approval. This process can take several days depending on registration volume, and the accuracy of the data provided. Our support team will notify you once the registration is approved, or if our provider has requested additional information.
