Why do I need a second domain?

A domain cannot have more than one email server attached to it at a time. If your primary domain has emails already associated with it through a service such as Gmail, Outlook, etc., you must have a second domain so that Firepoint can track the inbound and outbound emails in the system without breaking your existing emails.

For example, if you want to use bestrealestatearound.com, and you already have your personal emails going to jane@bestrealestatearound.com, you will need to set up a second domain. If you do not set up a second domain, and we use bestrealestatearound.com through Firepoint, you would no longer get emails through Gmail, Outlook, etc.

To prevent us from breaking your emails, you will need to have a second domain. We suggest using something similar to what your main domain is. Using the example above, we would suggest a second domain such as bestrealestatearound.net or bestrealestatearound.co. That would track emails in and out of Firepoint as jane@bestrealestatearound.net or jane@bestrealestatearound.co and would forward onto your personal email at jane@bestrealestatearound.com.
