103: Merging Duplicate Contacts

This training shows how to merge multiple contact records into one. Realvolve can merge contacts in Bulk or by User Selection.

By Bulk:

The first step is to navigate to your Settings, from there you will want to find the Merge Wizard tab on the left side panel.

The Merge Wizard is a method of bulk-merging your duplicate contacts within the Realvolve Database

You will want to select which key point you want the wizard to find the duplicate contacts in the first Drop-Down box

Once you have selected which key point, you just need to select the blue, 'Merge Contacts' button.

By User Selection:

You will want to Navigate to your Dashboard and select the Contact Screen_Shot_2021-09-02_at_2.16.23_PM.png Icon.

You are now in the Contacts database, and you will want to click on the >> icon to expand the contact list. From here you can start selecting the contacts that are duplicates.

Once you have selected your duplicate contacts, select the Screen_Shot_2021-09-02_at_2.22.35_PM.png icon in the top right of the page to bring out a drop down menu. With the drop down menu opened, navigate and select the tab that is labeled "Merge Duplicates".

There will be another verification pop-up to let you know what you are doing and if you would like to proceed. If yes, then select Merge.

Would be great if I could use the power of the realvolve platform (bulk merge wizard) to identify a list of contacts with duplicate information so that I could then manually decide which I want to merge . This would be especially helpful because I do not want to go through all of the names (manually) in my database looking for possible duplicates to tag . Does that make sense?

Additionally, the option to seek out dupes by fields other than just name & email (like phone numbers, street address, etc) would be useful. Just my 2 cents

Just used the bulk wizard and it merger 4 (of my 3000+) contacts, but I don't know how to see which. Please advise if there is a way to see report.

Also, it would be best if the merge on email address were not case sensitive, since email addresses are not case sensitive for delivery.

Sorry George - this video is a little older. There are now three horizontal lines instead of the blue buttons.

There are three horizontal lines instead of the blue buttons, but "Merge" isn't one of the options. :/

Beware! it will also duplicate all your contact notes! So you will have two of everything you have noted.
